Veterans Day Concert

The Vacant Chair

Free Veterans’ Concert is Open to the Public

Highland Township, MI—“The Vacant Chair:  Remembering Our Heroes,” is a free, one-hour, concert honoring military veterans on Sunday, November 12 at 7 p.m. at West Highland Baptist Church (WHBC) on Hickory Ridge Road.

The seventh annual concert, sponsored by Milford Music and WHBC, is open to veterans, families of veterans, and community members who want to honor, support and thank those who have served our country.

“This evening of music and memories will give the audience an awed appreciation for our military veteran heroes and for those men and women currently serving in the armed forces,” says Tim Twiss, Milford Music owner.

“The concert centers on the Vacant Chair—representing the ultimate sacrifice of veterans lost in service to our country—and the appreciation we have for our veteran heroes,” Twiss explains.  Participants are welcome to bring an item from their veteran hero to display with the Vacant Chair during the concert.

The event will feature songs performed by Milford Music staff and friends, including Twiss, Lisa Austin, Marianne Murphy, Kathy Smith, Estar Cohen, Jill Fitzgerald, and Sue Gibson.  Plus, Sherman Case, a Pacific WWII Army Air Corps Veteran, will perform a special song on the tenor saxophone.

Admission is free.  Donations will be accepted to support a local veterans’ agency.

Light refreshments and a social time will follow the concert.  For more details, visit http://milfordmusic.com.
