RAISING THOROUGHBREDS

For those of you who have raised/taught children, you know that a great responsibility exists in their upbringing. And, if you are like me, you wished that the Lord would have given you an instruction manual to make sure that everything you said and did was “just right” in raising them.

Almighty God has given us such a manual - the Bible, which contains everything we need for raising our Thoroughbreds.  He cares about how they are raised.  That is why He chose you to teach them the “Curriculum of Life” found in His Word.

The Lord provides specific instruction to parents regarding the training program for sons and daughters.  One is found in Ephesians 6:4 where it says that we are to         “…bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.”

Another direction outlined in Scripture is Deuteronomy 6:1-9.  These verses tell the Israelites “why” His commands, decrees and laws are to be taught, “…so that you, your children and their children after them may fear the Lord your God as long as you
live...so that you may enjoy long life.”  Also identified in this Scripture are two of the most important commandments, which are, to acknowledge that there is only one God and that we are to love the Lord with our total being.

God commanded, through Moses, that parents have a responsibility to teach their children about Himself, His Commandments, His love, and many other things.  He wanted people to know that there were blessings for obedience and curses for not following God’s instruction outlined in Deuteronomy 28.

Of course, the greatest goal in the training program is that parents should tell their children about Jesus and the way of Salvation.  "Train a child in the way they should go and when they are old they will not turn from it." Proverbs 22:6
