Just A Thought: Pray for the Nation

"Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God, Who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them; Who keeps truth forever, Who executes justice for the oppressed, Who gives food to the hungry. The Lord gives freedom to the prisoners. The Lord opens the eyes of the blind; the Lord raises those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous. The Lord watches over the strangers; He relieves the fatherless and widow; but the way of the wicked He turns upside down.  The Lord shall reign forever… Praise the Lord!"

- Psalms 146:5-10

Our God is a God of freedom. He is a God of liberty. Our Jesus came and preached liberty to the captives. I don’t know about you? But when God came into my life He set me free. He looks out for the fatherless and the widow and raises up those who are bowed down.
Here is what I believe - as long as we continue to lift up Jesus and the things of God, this nation will continue to prosper. If we take Christ out of it, then God will have to step back, and that will cause a spiritual shift that will be catastrophic. Scriptures says “If my people” so Christians, we need to pray.
The future of our culture is in our hands. The reason I say that is because the cause of our cultural demise is spiritual. And if the problem is spiritual, its cure must be spiritual. We are not of this world, but our prayers and our lives effect this world. We have a great God who is willing to forgive and heal our land… if He can find some people who are ready to “humble themselves and pray and seek His face and turn from their wicked ways.” When we do that, He can turn the trajectory of the nation around.
So, let us pray for America. Today - this week - lift our country and pray that God will bring a great revival to America.
