Just A Thought: Vision

1 Cor. 15:58 58 “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”

As many of you know, the elders have been developing a vision statement that will act like a map to guide the church into the future. In creating a vision for the future - Clarity is powerful.

I am becoming convinced that the church today is not only lacking in vision… many church leaders today are somewhat sketchy when they are asked where God is taking them. It’s not just vision - what I think is missing in many churches is a sense of clarity when it comes to that vision: a way to express it clearly, concisely, and with authority. In the days ahead – we will begin (continue) to walk out the vision the Lord has given us!

Our Vision: 2013
“To become a growing Bible based community that is connected with God, centered in Christ and empowered by the Spirit to care, love and serve others.”

The scripture says that "Where there is no vision the people perish"  (Proverbs 29:18). What about your life?  Has the Lord given you a vision?  Has He given you an assignment to accomplish?  Now is the time to lay hold of that vision and continue to fulfill your calling.  It may not happen as you planned or expected…but be confident of this fact…that your work in the Lord is not in vain!

Don't settle for what the Lord has already accomplished through you. Yes, it's always nice to be reminded of how God has already used you – but never lose sight of what He still wants to do with you in the future, and how He may want to build upon what He has already done in the past. So renew your vision of His will for your life, for your future – and walk in it!  That’s what we hope to do as a community of faith.
