Just A Thought: Psalm 91 - War

Psalms 91:4-7 “He will cover you with His feathers. He will shelter you with His wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you.

Philippians 4:7 “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Rockets are flying through the skies… Emails are also flying through cyberspace – social media is lit up like the stars. Beheadings and atrocities are the order of the day. In times like these the best and the worst are brought out in people: either the peace, confidence, and strength which come from faith, or the fear and panic which overwhelms the souls of men.

Peace that passes all understanding is the inheritance and fruit of faith in Jesus. And we shall not be afraid of the terrors by night, nor the terrorist which are on the move as I write this message.

As the Last Days come, the Lord warned that "men's hearts (will be) failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken" - Luke 21:26. These are wicked times which will test our faith. Are you at peace? If not, it's time to pray for a refilling with His Holy Spirit…who alone can give the peace He promised.

We, God’s people must draw near to Him as the prospect of war looms nearer. We all need to keep our lamps filled and trimmed, no matter where we are. His peace will be with us and will be a
testimony, even in the terror that flies by night - for we shall not fear, our God is with us!
